Wonder Woman by José Luis García López

Spanish artist extraordinaire García López is responsible, among many, many other things, of the most popular greeting cards featuring Superman and Wonder Woman, back in the late ’70s and ’80s. His images are instantly recognizable for their simplicity and beauty.

He lived many years in Argentina, where he worked for a local comics company called Editorial Columba. One of his works I remember the best was “Roland, the Corsair” written by Hector G. Oesterheld, a pirates story I used to read as a kid.

Then he moved to the States in 1974, where he did most of his huge body of work.

This is a tiny homage to a great artist.
